Overview
YIC, Yoga Instructors’ Course is the monthly course conducted by SVYASA, Prashanti Kuttiram, Bangaluru.It’s environmental potential at SVYASA influences that help individual to shape the personality. The primary objective of the course is to transform the knowledge to be able to teach yoga with confidence in a holistic manner.
The course is combination of two theory and Practical Subjects like Breathing techniques, Asana, Sat Kriyas, Pranayama, Meditation technique. Yogic Games which improves Concentration, Memory, Dexterity, Stamina, Awareness and Happy Assembly program which makes one to being tune with true nature, happiness and Bliss.On the completion of this course, the students will be able to teach yoga to the general public even having health related complain. The holistic way to prevent diseases, promote positive health and bring harmony and peace in the society.
Objectives
- To provide for instructions and training in Yoga and Spiritual lore as propounded by Swami Vivekananda, the famous Indian monk who heralded the grandeur of Sanatana Dharma (the Laws of Creation) in the West through his epoch-making speech in the Parliament of Religions on Sep 11, 1893 for total Personality Development
- To provide for research and for the advancement and dissemination of all the streams of yoga and its applications to offer solutions for major challenges of the Globe
- To undertake extra-mural studies, extension programs and field-outreach activities to contribute to bring Peace, Poise, Harmony, Love, Health & Happiness
- To do all such other acts and things as may be necessary or desirable to further the objectives of the University
Admission
YIC is a mandatory Course for joining any Programme at S-VYASA.
- YIC admissions are open now
- YIC is conducted every month
- Duration of regular residential YIC Course is One month
- Class Schedule is from 5AM to 7:30 PM for YIC
- YIC Course starts on 1st and ends on 30th of every month
- Accommodation is Dormitory with One Cot, One Mattress, One Pillow, Locker Facility and separate room will be given only on availability, with extra charges
- Food will be strictly vegetarian and Satvik diet will be given
- Last date of Application for YIC is 30th of every month

Eligibility
Participant should have completed 12th / 10 +2 / PUC 2 / 2 Years Diploma (with basic English knowledge
Fees for YIC (Nov, 2019 Batch onwards)
For Indians and SAARC Nation Participants YIC fees is as under :
- Rs. 30,000/- (Rupees Thirty thousand only per participant) for Dormitory Accommodation.
- Rs. 40,000/- (Rupees Forty thousand only per participant) for a 3 sharing Accommodation subjected to availability.
- Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty thousand only per participant) for a 2 sharing Accommodation subjected to availability.
- Rs. 60,000/- (Rupees Sixty thousand only per participant) for a Single occupancy Accommodation subjected to availability.
For Foreign Nationals :
- $ 2500/- (USD Two thousand five hundred only per participant) for a Single occupancy Accommodation subjected to availability.
- $ 2000/- (USD Two thousand only per participant) for a double occupancy Accommodation subjected to availability.
YIC FEES excludes QCI fees. QCI fees to be paid extra if needed.
NOTE : OCI Visa holders and Indian Passport issued in any other country are considered as foreigners (NRI) and foreign fees are applicable ($ 2000 for a twin share and $ 2500 for a single occupancy).

Dress code and descipline
- During Practice Session, participants have to wear YIC UNIFORM (T-Shirt and Track Pant)
- Apart from Practical Session general decent dress code can be used
- All Programs are compulsory including Vedic Prayer (Ancient Indian Yogic chanting) in Sanskrit and in Hindi in the Morning
- Library facility is available for reference only
Attendance
Participants has to have 100% attendance in morning aasana class , Maithri Milan and Bhajan sessions. And 90 % in other classes of YIC. The student shall be informed about their attendance status periodically so that the students shall be cautioned to make up the shortage.
Reaching our university
It is advisable to report a day before i.e 30th or 31st of every month for the next month Course before 5 PM to settle comfortably in the campus.
You may directly come to Prashanti Kutiram approximately 35 kms (2 Hrs) from Bengaluru Railway Station / Bengaluru Bus Stand, approximately 70 kms ( 4 and ½ Hrs) from Kempegowda International Airport, Devanahalli, Bengaluru.
OR
You may report to our City Office at Ekanath Bhavan, Gavipuram Circle, Kempegouda Nagar before 6 PM on the 30th / 31st of every month and 6:30 AM on the day of commencement of the Course (i.e 1st of every Month) to reach to University Campus. You can book your seat by calling our city office 080 2661 2669.
Note : At sharp 7AM University-Bus leaves from City Office to University Campus.

You may hire a Prepaid Taxi or Private Taxi and directly reach Prasahnti Kutiram Campus.
Course Curriculum
The Yoga Instructor course consists of the following the subjects which transforms the students could able to learn yoga and provides the platform to teach the yoga individually. The syllabus is as per QCI curriculam and we are organizing QCI exam level I, with YIC course every month.
Theory
- Introduction to yoga and its’ streams – Patanjali and Hatha yoga (2 credits)
- Life and Message of Spiritual Masters and Applications of Yoga (2 credits)
Practical
- Asanas & Kriyas (2 credits)
- Pranayama & Meditations (2 credits)
- Teaching techniques & Karma yoga (2 credits)
- Chanting of shlokas, Yogic games / Happy assembly and report (2 credits)
Personality development
Yoga Instructors’ Course environmental potential at S-VYASA influences that help individual to shape their personality.An individual’s personality is the complex of mental characteristics that makes them unique from other people. It includes all of the patterns of thought and emotions that cause us to do and say things in particular ways. At a basic level, personality is expressed through our temperament or emotions. The YIC at S-VYASA provides the platform to build up the personality.

The YIC is the esteem course of S-VYASA.The YIC department of S-VYASA could able to maintain the consistant reputation for the past two decades all over the world by providing qualitative course curriculum.
Features of the department
- The YIC department has well trained staff, who themselves have done previous courses at S-VYASA both long and short term courses. Therefore the staff members are able to share their experience with new students easily
- The YIC department provides the opportunity and training that once the student has completed the course, they in turn can become coordinator and in time provide valuable insight to prospective new students
- The YIC department provided the contribution of all senior faculty members to provide their valuable understanding and input, so that the students truly understand yoga (i.e. that is more than just a physical pursuit)
